Summary: My way of dealing with watching the last Kobe show where Miyata got hurt.

A/N: Ok. So I went to several of this weekend’s concerts at Kobe. At the final concert, Miyata fell and was limping around the stage, leaning against the various poles and platforms, and when they had to put the skates back on, he didn’t do any of the difficult stuff. It was rather painful to watch. Then, when it was Tama’s turn to sing his solo song, I nearly died when Miyata didn’t come out to dance with Nika, Senga, and Kitayama. He didn’t reappear until the last song of the concert, which meant he’d missed majority of the second half of the concert. I don’t know exactly what turned out to be wrong with his foot, nor do I know the extent of Tama’s injuries from that tumble down the ramp. I did, however, try to include as much of what I saw as possible when I was writing this.

------------------------------------------

None of them really know what happened. One minute he was dancing to the opening to the PLAYZONE section, the next, he's on the ground.

He doesn't quite remember the fall either, but what Miyata does know is that his foot hurts.

As he and Taipi moved along the walkway toward their positions for Keitai Tengoku, the older boy jokes with him about it, both of them thinking that he'll just walk it off. No problem.

But there is a problem. Halfway through the rodeo, his foot still hurts and if anything, it's starting to hurt more.

He moved through the audience so that he could sit on the stairs, announcing to everyone that his foot really hurts. The others joke around a bit. After all, it can’t be too bad. They weren’t even on skates at the time.

But as they continue through the rest of the PLAYZONE material and into Hair, everyone can tell that Miyata isn’t going to just walk this one off. They're on skates now for the Hikaru Genji songs but Miyata's not doing anything more than moving his arms and getting into his spot. They each try to catch his eye to see if he’s ok, but all they get in return is a fake smile trying to convince them all that he's fine. He's not fooling any of them, but the only one that shows it is Tamamori, right before the younger boy has to run off stage to prepare for his solo.

When Miyata manages to get off stage to take the skates off so that he can run back on for Tamamori’s solo, the others are waiting for him.

"The trainer's here," Kitayama said quickly. They don’t have much time before Bokutachi no Seishuun is finished signaling that they need to get back on stage. "We'll fix the spacing to go with 3 instead of 4."

Miyata shook his head. It was Tama's solo. He couldn't not back dance for Tamamori. "It's fine," he tried to say, but Nikaido put his hand down on his shoulder, preventing him from continuing.

"Get it checked out and find out what's wrong," Kitayama said, firmly. "We'll cover for you. He'll understand," he added more gently.

So Miyata went to the trainer while the others continued on with the show. From backstage, he could at least watch the footage being projected onto the VTR screens. He was thankful for that, but he could see the worry behind all of their smiles and he remembered when they had to do the Sendai concerts without Senga. It just wasn’t the same without all of them out there. And at least that time they knew that Senga just had the flu. This time, they were all out there with no idea about what was actually wrong.

But during Fujigaya’s solo, some of them were able to run by, in various states of dress, to see how he was doing before running off again. It was just a sprain and that made them all feel a little better. He'd especially smiled at the relief flash over Tamamori's face before the scowl replaced it, telling him to be more careful and that he was just lucky it was their last Kobe show.

The staff made him stay backstage until right before Goodbye, Thank You. He'd reasoned with them that it would really just worry everyone in the audience if he never came back out. In return, he promised that he wouldn't do anything strenuous.

Miyata and Tamamori ended up sharing the podium of the main stage instead of going to his usual spot on one of the platforms along the pathway. It meant that he wouldn’t have to walk that extra bit to get there later on. And it was totally worth it when Tamamori turned to smile at him as soon as the spotlight moved to Kitayama. "I was worried they wouldn't let you come back for the ending."

Miyata returned it with his own goofy smile. "As if anything could keep me away!"

They both laughed before turning back around. He may be restricted to the main stage area, but it really was the best being able to be there with the other members and all the fans. He was pretty sure that he was going to start crying soon from seeing the relief in the fans' faces as well.

They all smiled together when the Kobe fans started calling for a second encore as soon as they were out of sight. Rushing back up, Kitayama was laughing. “Kobe’s got a lot of energy tonight!”

It felt so good having the audience sing Kis-My-Calling with them, shouting even Miyata’s name with everything they had. They smiled out at the audience, at each other, even at the staff.

Going back down the ramp towards the off stage area, Miyata and Tamamori were the last ones. Miyata, who was the only one not on skates, went first, gingerly stepped forward, foot hurting at the different angle. Seeing this, Tamamori reached out with the intention of helping him… and in slow motion could feel his footing slip as he tumbled down the ramp, forcing Miyata to rush out of the way.

Face red as Miyata helped him up, he managed to announce that he was ok before they ducked under the curtain held aside by a member of the staff.

The others were waiting for them, Fujigaya in particular not looking impressed. “What a pair you guys make.”

Miyata flashed him a peace sign while Tamamori just glared, wincing a little when he tried to bend his elbow.

Kitayama clicked his tongue. “Let’s get you both checked out.”

When they finally got back to the hotel, Miyata fell, face first, into the bed, moaning as he took the pressure off of his injured foot. “This… was a really long day.”

Tamamori crawled in next to him. “Three shows in one day? Yeah, it was.”

They both groaned when a knock came on the door just as they got into a somewhat comfortable position. Unmoving, Tamamori asked, “The door wouldn’t by any chance be unlocked would it?”

“Doubt it,” Miyata replied. “Maybe they’ll go away?” he said hopefully, but almost in immediate response to this comment, the knock came again, followed by a series of door bell rings.

Huffing, Tamamori finally got up, making sure to use his left arm to push himself up. Opening the door, he was greeted by an impossibly energetic Senga and a Nikaido that actually looked a little apologetic at bothering them. Tamamori only sighed and moved out of the way to let both of them in.

“Miyashita-kun~! You doing ok?” Senga asked hopefully at the boy who had not moved at all from his position on the bed.

“I’m fine,” Miyata laughed although he did nothing more than sit up. “Gonna take a lot more than this to take me down!”

Nikaido sighed somewhat sarcastically, casually pushing a finger at Miyata’s wrapped ankle. He looked at him sharply when Miyata hissed in response. “I’m so sure you’re fine.”

“We brought you guys some ice!” Senga announced, proudly putting the bucket on the desk. “Ten on, ten off.”

Tamamori and Miyata shared a look, both actually thankful at their thoughtfulness. They themselves had forgotten to grab some from the dispenser down the hall. Nikaido managed to drag Senga away soon enough, but just as Tamamori set a bag holding a mixture of ice and water on Miyata’s ankle, the door bell rang again.

Groaning again, Tamamori went to answer the door again. It was the older three members this time, and again, all he could do was move aside and let them into the room.

“How’re you guys holding up?” Kitayama asked, lifting the ice pack up to inspect Miyata’s ankle.

“Totally fine,” Miyata assured him, this time managing to contain most of his moan of pain as Kitayama prodded at his ankle. “Feels much better than earlier,” he said hurriedly when the older boy raised an eyebrow.

“Miyacchi… You need to be more careful,” Fujigaya scolded lightly, settling down next to Kitayama on the edge of the bed. “You too Tama-chan,” he added when he saw the younger boy nod in agreement. “Who the hell tumbles down the ramp when the concert’s already finished?”

Yokoo started to check Tamamori’s arm as well. The bruises were there as evidence of his clumsiness, the one showing where he’d landed initially on the ramp being the largest and darkest. It was long and wide across the length of his forearm all the way up his elbow. Finally satisfied that there was nothing wrong beyond the heavy discoloring, he moved to make an ice pack for him as well, pleased to see the bucket of ice there.

The three of them hung around for a while, all of them talking on and on about that night’s show. Giving up on his position next to the hotel desk, he crawled back into bed next to Miyata, wiggling his way into a more comfortable position. The others kept talking, Miyata jumping in here and there to tell them what he’d seen from the backstage screens, but Tamamori drowned everything out, closing his eyes and focusing on the feeling of Miyata next to him.

The next thing he knew, he was warm, under the covers, curled against Miyata’s chest. He tried to figure out when he’d fallen asleep and gotten into this position, but was drawing up a blank.

Sensing that he was awake, Miyata tightened the arm strung across his shoulders. “The just left a little while ago,” he murmured softly.

“Mm,” was his most intelligent response to this, burying himself further into Miyata’s side. He could feel the bruising on his right arm and the rest of his body, but it felt much better than it had initially. “How’s your ankle?”

Miyata tried to bend it a little, testing how it felt. “Better,” he decided after a little while. This was Tama… his Tama. There was no point in trying to lie about it.

Seemingly satisfied by this, he gave a slight nod. “We were all so worried. At first we thought you might just be playing it up, but then, when it became obvious that you weren’t, we weren’t sure what to expect.”

“I thought it was nothing at first too,” he murmured, rubbing his arm reassuringly across Tamamori’s arm.

“It’s just that… this show we’ve created is such a physical performance,” Tamamori continued, almost a whisper. “We’re onstage for almost the entire show… skating, dancing. It’s not like we just stand there and sing. It’s so easy for one of us to get injured… especially on a day like this. We’d been going at it from ten this morning. Mistakes happen when we’re that tired.”

“Shh… It’s ok now,” Miyata said, hugging him tighter.

Tamamori lifted himself up far enough to press his lips against Miyata’s. “I think the worst part was not knowing what had happened. I couldn’t be there when you went off stage and when only Nika came up during Can Try, I didn’t know what to think,” he whispered.

“It’s ok now,” he repeated, cupping Tamamori’s face like it were the most precious thing in the world. “I’m ok. We’re all ok. We have to be on an early train back to Tokyo in the morning. Let’s get some rest, ok?”

Settling back down, Tamamori nodded his head. Miyata waited until he could feel the younger boy’s breathing even out before relaxing to go to sleep too. As he looked down at the boy in his arms, he could imagine just how Tamamori had felt. It was so hard sometimes fighting with what you want to do as compared to what you have to do. Tamamori had had to go on with the show even though he’d wanted to be with him and just knowing that Tamamori had really wanted to be there with him made Miyata feel warm all over.

He watched Tamamori sleep for a bit longer before closing his eyes. He almost jumped when the other boy suddenly murmured, “Toshiya…”

Opening his eyes, he found that Tamamori was still sleeping. He smiled broadly, realizing that Tamamori was dreaming about him. Wrapping his arms firmly around the younger boy, he closed his eyes again. “Oyasumi, Yuta.”

Wah, cuuuute. Ah, I'm almost glad I wasn't there, though. It's HORRIBLE when it's only six of them, especially when you don't know what's going on. When the curtain went up on that first show in Sendai and there were only six of them, I felt sick.

Anyway. *tries not to think about it*

I'm sure Miyata will be fine, and it's nice to read something like this. Because I'm sure it's true. They all care about each other a lot.

It sucks that we might never find out what was actually wrong with his foot. They never said anything other than that he had fallen... and they were saying that before keitai tengoku was even finished.

im in tears.
as in, i had tears streaming before i even read the fic.
mostly because everything is raw and seems real, and then it got totally adorable at the end and all i can hope for is that thats how it is, that tama is looking after him and he is looking after tama.

it seems to be that each time miyacchi has something wrong with his leg, nobody quite knows what happened... remember how none of us did in hiroshima? then yesterday in the 2nd show he started hobbling right infront of me but i couldnt see what he'd really done to end up that way, and after a while he seemed to be able to dance again, but for a good 10-15 seconds he couldnt dance properly. but he was still trying to laugh and shake it off..

then, last night. well, you also said you didn't see exactly WHAT HAPPENED... all i know for sure is he's been getting leg cramps, and i think thats what it is each time, since we, the audience, cant actually physically SEE a leg cramp, we can only see the result afterward, which was obviously became quite debilitating in the last show.

anyway i hope there is some way for him to get the problem solved. itd be horrible if it keeps plaguing him.

but you've made my day and i feel a bit more cheered up from reading this. thanks so much.

Yeah. That's why when I told you, Nika and Tama's falls were much more funny. Nika, 'cause he was trying to show off on the jumping ramps when he went splat (Miyata tried to run over to help him up and that was sweet) and then Tama...

Miyacchi really does need to be a bit more careful. He does have some kind of injury every time we see him and it's really not good.

I'm glad it helped you 'cause I know it helped me when I tried to think about it this way. ^-^

OMG, Is that part about Tamachan falling down the ramp true?
Doing 3 concerts in one day is really overworking these guys. Seems like JE just wants their injured guys to "suck it up," and continue performing! At least it was the last show for this weekend, so that they can rest, I think?
BTW, I hope Taipi did not trip Miyacchi again, thus causing his "leg problems?"

Yeah... I could see Tama-chan reach out forward with both hands and then suddenly just drop from sight while I could see Miyacchi jogging forward. He was still holding his mike so it was actually a horrible sound.

Taipi tripped Miyacchi really bad Friday night, and we're pretty sure that that was the reason he'd wrapped his wrist from the 10am show. Miyacchi still did the 'tripping' thing, but for the Saturday shows, it was definitely planned out that way. I think Taipi learned his lesson.

At WHAT PART of the song and HOW does Taipi trip Miyacchi? Is the concert performance similar to the second one they did on SC, when they linked arms and spun in a large circle, with the bowling?

Yeah, it's like the way they performed it the second time on Shokura. During the part where Miyacchi and Yokoo are ducking in and out, Taipi was sticking his leg out when Miyacchi was going through.

I felt so sick during the time Miyacchi wasn't on stage. So strange watching 6 of them perform Fire Beat... totally not interested.

I'm sure he's fine... I doubt they'd have let him walk around at all if it were serious. Well... at least, that's what I keep telling myself. >.>

Oh my gosh, I got really surprised when I read about the accidents. I hope they're alright. Years ago I used to be terrified everytime ABC was on TV because I thought they would fall and break their necks, but Kisumai are like ten times worse these days. Mm~ I don't like accidents. ^^ But it's understandable if they had three shows in one day.

I got a bit teary eyed reading this. :P I really hope they're all okay.

*clicks the egg*

Yeah. I worry about ABC a lot too sometimes... Not so much recently cause they don't do as much anymore (except tossing Tsuka up) but yeah... This weekend was actually the first time I saw them perform Tension without any mistakes. They were crashing and falling all over the place in Hiroshima and then on Shokura, we got to see Senga and Tama-chan fall. Every time they move into position for Tension I felt like I was going to have a heart attack. (>.<)

WAH, but miyata! ♥;; i almost didn't want to read this for the apprehension, but it turned out so sweet in the end. ;__; they all need to take better care of themselves~ (thank god the three-shows/day hurdle is over!)
