Comment to this post, and I will list five things I associate with you. They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your LJ (or just add a reply back at me). Other people (including me~) can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.

This list is from:  [livejournal.com profile] snowqueenofhoth

1. bags
haha... Bags.  What can I say about bags?  I'm sure I was given this particular topic because I own a lot of them.  They're really useful and I'm the type of person that changes my bag with my outfit and purpose.  If I'm only going to the grocery store, I'll take a small cross-body purse.  If I'm going on a trip, I have two duffles, an over-sized purse, and several suitcases to choose from.

In general, I don't care about brand names and all that.  As long as the bag serves its purpose, I don't care if it's from the random bag shop in Namba or from Coach.  I do admit that I have several Coach bags, but this has a lot more to do with the fact that I like the design/color than it does with wanting it BECAUSE it's a brand name bag.

Even though I already have a ton, I can always justify buying a new one so in general, if I'm trying to save money, it's best that I don't even enter a bag shop.  And to give you an idea of why [livejournal.com profile] snowqueenofhoth  probably gave me this topic... This is what my living room wall looks like.

The sad part might be that this isn't all of them...  These are the ones that just happened to be put away.  The ones that I used recently aren't up there yet.

2. Osaka
There's not a lot of sightseeing to do in Osaka.  Once you hit the castle and aquarium... yeah.  Not much else to see, but the food is great, the people are awesome... and quite honestly, I rather enjoy the fashion.  Yeah, I see a ton of things that I would never be caught dead wearing, but overall I just think it's fun.  I can appreciate the confidence that these people have to wear whatever the hell they want and no matter what I wear, it's comforting to know that there will always be someone who looks worse than me.  haha...

I love Osaka.  Before moving here, I had only been to Japan twice before and both times, I came to Osaka.  It's home now and I plan on letting it continue being my home for a long time to come.

3. shorts & boots combo
I'm not too sure what to say about this.  In general, I like boots a lot because they're not something that you can easily find in Hawaii (and when you do, they can be SUPER EXPENSIVE), so when I moved to Seattle, it was like, OMG~!  BOOTS!  Actually, the first pair of shoes I bought in Japan were boots and well... I'm the kind of person that likes to wear/use things as soon as I buy them.  I came to Japan in the summer.  *shrugs*

The combo never came across to me as being strange, but I probably wear shorts with boots year-round.  And before you ask, my legs being cold doesn't really bother me unless I'm trying to sleep.

4. Miyajima
I have really fond memories of Miyajima.  When I came to Japan in high school, we spent one day in Hiroshima.  Did our rounds at the Peace Park and the museum and then in the afternoon, we went to Miyajima.  Lemme tell you now... it was raining and cold that day.  The deer were damp, smelly and chasing people around looking for food.  There were a lot of things that should have ruined the day, but I was with my friends and my cousin so overall, I was good.

After that, Miyajima was a place that I really wanted to return to and when Kisumai had their second tour, I finally made it back there.  [livejournal.com profile] snowqueenofhoth  and I got there mid-morning and basically spent the entire day there.  There was yummy anago-meshi... cute deer (dry this time)... we watched an hour of the Rope-Jump EXPO on her cellphone... and then there was the unexpected hike.  I pulled a muscle in the side of my leg in the process making stairs a problem for the next week or so, but I can't say I regret any of it.  I may not do it again, but no regrets.  haha...

5. eyeliner
Eyeliner.  Okay, so I didn't start wearing make-up until I was 20 and even then, I almost never bothered.  I have single eyelids and just really didn't know how to apply make-up at all.  It wasn't until I moved to Japan that I actually started wear make-up more frequently.

As anyone who has actually met me can attest to, I have tiny disappear-when-I-smile Japanese eyes.  When I go out or go to concerts, I use make-up to help them stand out.  (and maybe cheat a little to change the shape. :p)

My routine used to be:  primer, eyeshadow (mostly bronze and gold), eye liner, and mascara (if I'm not too lazy), but then I couldn't help but feel like it was just making my eyes look darker, so recently, I haven't been bothering with eyeshadow and just start from the eyeliner.  It looks a lot cleaner and it's easier and faster.  You can argue that I just wasn't doing it right, and you might not be wrong, but for now, I like my eyeliner.

I've used a few different types in my short make-up history, but the one that works best for me is KATE's gel liner.  I can wear it all day and not have to worry about it smudging.  With the way my eyes are shaped, it's easy for things on my top lid to transfer to the outer edge of my lower lash line, so this eyeliner really works for me.

Okay.  That's all five!

woah...bags! I can't keep up with that haha
my sister actually insisted on getting me a new one for my graduation so I had a -proper- handbag because my black one is all worn out and torn ^^;

but I agree, I care about design and functionality a lot more than I do about brands. although when it comes to the prize...I guess I tend not to take brand bags usually.

osaka~ ♥ the city and the people really have a special charm. I loved it, too when I first visited the city (also the first place in Japan that I visited :3)
one day I will get to visit you instead of you coming up to tokyo, I swear. ~.~!! and then I'll make food of course ;)

true...when I think of you "shots & boots" comes to mind. it suits you a lot! :D

I remember meeting you in Hiroshima before the con after that hiking trip of yours ^^; being "owww!" but happy so that was good :)

and uhm...random comments from my part... do you want to give me a list, too? I've already done this meme a couple times but I don't mind doing it again XD

hm I'll reply in here then?

1. Chocolate
There's a chocolate factory (Lindt & Sprüngli) in my hometown :D The shop there sells a lot more variety than other shops because it's fresh off the production line after all. Sometimes the prices are better, too because the products are not packaged for exporting etc. so it's less fancy pants (but if that means it costs less hey, who cares about what's OUTSIDE... quality is exactly the same if not better because it's pre-shipping). Of course I also love chocolate myself. Especially Swiss chocolate. Lindt is also Swiss chocolate but the taste is still a bit different...I had original Swiss chocolate (my sister lives in Switzerlandn ow) the other day and boy that was SO GOOD *v*

Since a lot of people know and like Lindt abroad as well, I always take stuff over for my friends and to give away as a present. And to have a stash of comfort food around because...I miss chocolate from here whenever I'm abroad. Japanese chocolate or the Cadbury stuff is -okay- but not -good- really... *sigh*

2. Roppongi
Uh...My university was there and I used to live around the corner but tha's pretty much it. I'm not THAT much into clubbing there and have only gone maybe 3-4 times and had run-ins with Jin and his peeps. There's an Izakaya I like there though where I went with my office for dinner and drinks. That was pretty cool.

Roppongi hills is also nice. They have a German "Christmas Market" there, which is not entirely special at all and super expensive but...it was still kind of cute. Haha. I also love the cinema there. :)

3. Bunny!
I actually have no clue when exactly it started but I guess it's because my zodiac sign is bunny/rabbit. I just started to like the animal at some point, especially on merchandise etc. I own several plushie bunnies (you saw my big-ass bunny XD).

Along the way, my 'signature' when I was given a so-called "Con-Hon" (Convention/Concert Hon=Book, something like a frienship book that gets passed around at conventions or concerts or events here related to Anime/Manga and Japan in general) became a bunny as well. It looks a bit like Takeuchi Naoko's bunny signature in the Sailor Moon Mangas crossed with the "CLAMP Bunny" (from Wish). It's an evil grinning bunny XD

4. Kakumei
Uh...Kakumei Jidai *starts off like Mitsu* This is kind of random. What am I supposed to say about this? Maybe that 2010 I went to watch Kakumei a ridiculous number of times. That Kakumei was where I met you for the first time (ok technically before but we met BECAUSE we were going to Kakumei later on...) and Kakumei 2011 was the last fandom related thing I did last time I was in Japan. :X

5. KiraKira
Is actually partially where my name comes from. My vietnamese name can be kind of difficult so a Japanese friend came up with "she's always 'kirakira' happy, sparkly...so why not call her 'Kira?'". That didn't stick at first though, not until secondary school (so when I was 10 years old). Ever since then I have been known to some as Kira and to others by my real name. I go by both names most of the time still because it's not officially my name on my passport etc. YET but depending on where I'll be working I might have to make the name change. My sister did, too. Ugh... hassle I'm not looking forward, too. Paperwoooooork. ;v;

*sparkles*

And here's a list for you:

1. Pho ;)
2. Tokyo
3. Matori
4. Futon
5. Fanfiction
