November 11=Pocky Day

So as most of you know, Kitayama named his dog Pocky-kun... and I never thought about it before, but I realized that chances are that it's because he got Pocky-kun on November 11th... aka Pocky Day.  Some of you are probably wondering what the hell 'Pocky Day' is... but imagine how November 11th looks to Japanese kids when it's written on the board at school... 11月11日  The '1's look like pocky sticks, therefore making it Pocky Day.

Ok... and that is the end of my post.

november 11 here today is veterans day

if you told me sooner that it was pocky day i would have ran to the japanese market and bought me a bunch of pockies.. LOL

and it was pepero day yesterday or was it the 11th as well??

It's a good reason to name the dog after the day :3 it's a great name, btw! I like it why Tegoshi was named Yuya then?! XD

In Korea there's sth similar, I didn't know (or realise) that in Japan there'd be a Pocky day too...

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who went all "ooh pocky day...wan!" yesterday...lol
I went 'wan' when my friend said pocky day and he's like "why dog?" and I'm like "Uh...someone I know has a dog named Pocky?"

You're right. Hiro started having Pocky as a pet on November 11th. He actually mentioned it in a magazine interview before (Popolo Feb 2008) so it would have been Pocky's third anniversary with the Kitayama family (as the interview would have occured in end of 2007).

...I feel like a maniac or something for remembering something like this without ever having to search things up.
