Where'd all my free time go?

talisa_ahnI'm really not sure how this happened, but I find that I have a lot more work to do now than I did before. I teach more classes, I have more things to prep for lessons... and I've been having to stay past 4pm. I mean, it must be a good thing right? The teachers are trusting me to be responsible for more? And I do suppose that some of the extra work is my own doing, having complained that the students aren't getting enough opportunities to practice using English. They now get speaking tests (the reason I have to stay late) and we've added a section to the bottom of their vocab tests that encourages them to practice making sentences. I also give them points for talking to me in English outside of class.
Ugh. Tired.
English Club tomorrow and I just finished working on the worksheet to go with the movie I'll be showing. The timing comes out different depending on which program I use to watch the DVD, so a little worried about that. Also a little worried that there's not enough merit from watching this movie... Club is only an hour so it'll be tough to get the grammar point in properly. Will need to figure out how to continue it next week.
On a completely different note, I don't know what to be for Halloween. If all else fails, I'll be Miyata's PZ version of otaku because it'd be the easy thing to do. I have jeans, I have sneakers, I have a backpack, I have Shounen Jump, and I probably have a bandanna... All I need is the denim vest, a fanny pack and a plastic grabby stick thing. Maybe a wig. *sigh* Halloween fail. Will have to go see if I can't find something else.

Date: 2010-10-13 04:46 am (UTC)we totally don't celebrate halloween here... in fact, the closest i've ever been to celebrating it was last year (and even then, we were in hiroshima for kisumai so i pretty much missed any of the halloween activites they were doing at my dorm)
Wow sounds like you ARE really busy!! But its good, so long as you don't get too bogged down by all the extra work. It's great that your school is letting you have more responsibility and also responding to your desires to encourage the kids with their English more!! Good job, sensei!

Taught 3 classes, used the break period to redo the entire English Club worksheet, had to be at elementary school for lunch and then had club until 3... Went back to junior high school to find tests and homework to correct on my desk and then gave speaking tests until 4. Not gonna complain about the workload cause it's a lot better than having NOTHING to do, but tired~~~~~~~~~!
Ok. Off to my shodo lesson I go.
