☆ A few times a month I go to elementary school, mostly just to eat with the kids and sometimes for English Club (we did Dear Santa letters this time). Since we changed things around so that I only eat with 5th and 6th graders, I must say that I'm much more willing to go.
So with the new month, I moved to a new class of 6th graders to eat with and it was cool. I sat across from the baby sister of two of my current junior high kids and being able to recognize siblings is really fun for me. As we were moving the desks out of the way after lunch, I noticed that there was a cage near the teacher's desk and while most of the kids went outside for recess, I got to play with the class hamster. SO CUTE. This was the first time I'd encountered a class pet at any of my schools (the bugs at kindergarten do not count!) so I was really excited.
And then the teacher told me the hamster's name was NIKAIDO. In the end it turned out that the name had nothing to do with Nikaido Takashi, but it was awesome just the same getting to play with the hamster with the kids going, "Nika-chan! Nika-chan!" ♥ I get to go to that class again next week and I for one am rather excited about it. ^^;
☆ Had Mid-Year Seminar (MYS) this Thursday and Friday. I generally hate these things because it means that I have to see people that I don't want to see, but I must admit it didn't feel so bad this year. Still worrying a little over whether or not I'll be offered a contract to continue working at my schools for a fourth year, but I have my fingers crossed.

je100 challenge for the first time ever. Wrote all over my seminar handouts. It's only one and I should probably write a continuation, but we'll see.
☆ Still haven't gone over to Shochikuza to check and see if there really aren't photosets. I'm hoping that they'll at some point have live sets, but we'll see. The announced goods are lame.
